Welcome Desk Attendants

Responsibilities include:  Greeting members and guest as they arrive. Available for guided tours, inquiries and concerns regarding events and programming offered at the Upper Valley Aquatic Center.  Processing of program registration, facility reservations, membership card activations, and day passes.  Must have good customer service skills and the ability to become fluent with the software relating to all functions of their position.  CPR/AED/ First Aid is a plus.  Weekends and evenings are a must.

KidZone Attendants

Responsibilities include: greeting members and children at the KidZone.  Engage the children in reading, arts, crafts, playing games, and having safe fun with other children in the center.  The individual in this position must be postive, confident, team player, customer service driven and comfortable with children of varying temperaments and personalities.   CPR/AED/ First Aid is a plus. Weekends and evenings are a must.

Facility & Housekeeping

Responsibilities include: cleaning, light maintenance and room set-up. Prior housekeeping experience a plus.  All applicants must be at least 16 years of age or high school graduate with good people skills.  Must have reliable transportation and good references.    CPR/AED/ First Aid is a plus.

Lifeguards

Responsibilities include: Enforcement of pool ordinances and water safety rules, routine inspection of the locker rooms, pool, splash park, deck areas, and assist  in the maintenance of all areas of the center.  All applicants must be at least 16 years of age or high school graduate.  Lifeguard experience is preferred.  Certifications required or have the ability to get certified in the following: Lifeguard Training, First Aid and Adult-Child CPR.

Swim Lesson Instructors

Responsibilities include: Provide instruction in swimming techniques, skills, and water safety to participants, must be able to relate well with children and adults, must be able to exercise good judgment and safely supervise children, must have the sensory abilities (e.g. hearing, seeing) necessary to perform the duties of this position, assess participants swimming skills for appropriate level placement and for completing progress reports. American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and American Red Cross Lifeguard Training.

Group Exercise Instructors

Responsibilities include: Lead structured exercise classes, assist in the planning and implementation of group exercise programs, offer useful, tactful, and safe advise to individuals regarding their exercise program and/ or use of equipment. Enforce all facility and program policies, assist with the maintenance of exercise equipment. Strong communication skills, experience teaching aerobics to various groups, an understanding of strength training and cardiovascular exercise, a college degree relating to fitness preferred with a thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology, any nationally-recognized certification, current First Aid/CPR certification.

Aquatic Exercise Instructors

Responsibilities include: Teach water fitness courses in a variety of possible formats to adults, seniors, and special populations, Instruct participants on effective workout methods, explain proper techniques, demonstrate exercises, identify different muscle groups, teach appropriate methods to strengthen specific muscles, assist participants, answer any questions, and provide positive experience for class participants, ensure that safety standards are met, and that facility policies are adhered to. Strong communication skills, swimming back ground, one year or more of teaching water fitness preferred, any nationally-recognized certification, current First Aid/CPR certification.
